Granville, Ohio.
World Wide Arts Resources was founded by Dr. Markus Kruse in 1995 as part
of his graduate studies in Art Education/Administration. In 1999 wwar.com
added the absolutearts.com umbrella which focuses on arts marketing
services.
The company was born as a simple list of online arts resources from around
the
world. As the internet grew, so did wwar.com to include over 50,000 edited
pages of searchable and browsable art sites such as galleries, museums,
art services, government organization and non-profit organizations.
In 1999 wwar.com created the Artist's Portfolio as a basic tool for
artists to market their work online.
By 2002 absolutearts.com launched the Premiere Portfolio. The emerging
artist who are members of the Premiere Portfolio group were selected by a
jury and receive an advanced package of marketing tools.
Currently the sites represent over 150,000 works by over 24,000 artists
from around the world - the largest and most visited collection of
contemporary art on the internet.
absolutearts.com publishes a free international arts news magazine twice
each week.
