Artblogs - Art Blogs:

Don't Write Me Letters about Clean Studios.
I don't know, Willy. Your letter about making the Crealde Studio all nice and clean for the new students is the real reason I never went there. I know.I know. Neat is good to keep the place workable. That's why I never worked well in a neat academic environment. That's why I took 30 years to get a degree.
Your letter hit me hard, Willy. I don't know why. I am a messy person and don't care to have things matching. My hero artist is Francis Bacon who was revered globally for having the world's messiest studio, a hovel of a place about 12 x 18 feet, about the size of my hovel I am proud to say.
