Biography: Although not much is known about the Ancient Greek potter, Andokides, his signature was found on nine vases that dated to that period. Probably trained by Exekias, Andokides may have also worked with the Lysippides Painter, the Andokides Painter, and Psiax. It is also thought that the red-figure technique of vase painting originated in his workshop. Andokides is also one of the few potters to have a sculpture dedicated to the gods on the Acropolis in Athens.
