Biography:
Jean Audran’s father was the head of one of the high war loom workshops at the Gobelins manufactory. Audran eventually took over his father’s position and served as the production manager of the tapestries from 1771 to 1794. Little is known about his life, but his works are evident as they are usually signed with his last name.
