Biography:
Dutch artist, Hendrick Avercamp was deaf and nicknamed “de Stomme van Kampen” (the mute of Kampen,) the city where he lived and worked. Mostly painting winter landscapes, Avercamp’s work was colorful and depicted active scenes of winter and other activities.
