Biography: Although born in Pontypool, Thomas Barker was known as “Barker of Bath” as he spent most of his career working in that city. He produced mostly landscapes and genre scenes that were influenced by Gainsborough. Barker enjoyed a fairly successful career until just before his death in 1847.
