Biography:
Osias Beert was a recognized still life and flower painter who joined the Antwerp painter’s guild in 1602. While pursuing a career in the arts, he also worked as a cork merchant. Beert is praised for his oyster paintings, which display a mastery over the color and texture of his subject.
