Biography:
Abraham Bosse was a prolific printmaker who specialized in genre scenes of French life. He began teaching at the Academie Royale when in opened in 1648 and was employed there until 1661 when he was fired for arguing with his colleagues. Bosse was also a noted author, writing the first instructional manual for printmakers.
