Biography:
Josef Capek was one of the first supporters of Cubism who worked outside of France. He co-founded the Group of Avant-Garde Artists, beginning in Prague in 1911. Their aim was to unite the principles of Cubism and German Expressionism. Capek died in the Belsen concentration camp during World War II.
