Biography:
Bartolomeo Cavaceppi was trained as a sculptor and was admitted to the Accademia di San Luca in 1732. He established a large workshop in Rome. He was appointed to restore the antiquity collection of Cardinal Albani in 1734, a position that brought him many commissions. Cavaceppi also worked as a restorer for the pope at the Museo Clementino and published three volumes of his restored and collected engravings.
