Biography: Much of Cenni di Francesco di ser Cenni’s life is unknown, though some details can be uncovered from his few dated pieces. In 1369, he registered in Florence’s Arte dei Medici e Speziali. Although his only signed work in a fresco done in 1410 at a church in Volterra, other paintings have been identified by matching characteristics. Cenni was employed by many large institutions and important families in Florence. His style Gothic style incorporates golden backgroungs, elongated figures, and elegant details.
