Biography:
American sculptor, John Chamberlain began sculpting under the influence of David Smith, working with metal pipes. Then, in 1957, he began to use scrap parts from automobiles. Two years later, he was working completely with the junk medium, welding together the parts to create large twisted sculptures mostly for wall hanging. In addition to sculpture, Chamberlain has also worked in film and painting.
