Biography:
Sir Francis Chantrey began his career as a portrait painter but switched to sculpture around 1805. He established his reputation after sculpting the portrait bust of Reverand John Horne-Took, which was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1811. He expanded to create church monuments and statues.
