Biography:
Jean Cousin the Elder first worked in his hometown of Sens, France before moving to Paris in 1538. He was a well-known painter and stained glass and tapestry designer. However, very few of his known works have survived. Among these are a series of tapestries depicting the life of St Mammes, the painting Eva Prima Pandora, and two windows in the Sens Cathedral.
