Biography: Luis Dalmau began working in Valencia, Spain in 1428 for Alfonso V of Aragon. He was sent to Bruges in 1431 to study tapestry weaving and settled in Barcelona upon his return. He then painted his most recognized work, the Virgin of the Councillors for Barcelona’s town hall.
