Biography:
Although Defendente’s Ferrari’s date of birth is unknown, it is certain that he came from Chivasso, Italy. An altarpiece in the town of Ranverso that dates to 1531 is the only documented work, but it is thought that he was a prolific painter. Ferrari has also been credited with a large group of unsigned paintings. His art exemplifies the late Gothic style that was popular during his career.
