Biography:
The only information that scholars know about Franciabigio’s early training was that he was an assistant in Fra Bartolommeo’s studio and also studied Raphael’s murals in on trips to Rome. In 1506, he founded a workshop with Andrea del Sarto and influenced many Florentine artists. In addition to murals, Franciabigio painted portraits that were known for giving an accurate depiction of the sitter’s mood, spirit, and physical appearance.
