Biography: Luca Giordano was thought to have trained with Jusepe de Ribera and was influenced by his dramatic and dark approach to painting. In the late 1650’s, he developed a style similar to that of Pietro da Cortona and Peter Paul Rubens. From 1692 to 1702, Giordano was Spain’s court painter.
