Biography:
The first documented accomplishment in Francis Harwood’s life was a bust of Faustina at Castle Ashby from 1748. He later worked in Florence and provided many sculptures for the visiting English aristocrats. He worked in a classical style and often copied antique sculpture. Harwood also produced decorative sculptures and colored marble vases. IN 1758, he was commissioned to build sculptures for a monumental arch in Florence.
