Biography: Edward Hicks was a primitive painter from Bucks County, Pennsylvania who began working as a coach and sign painter. He was also a Quaker and devoted much of his life to preaching his religion’s way of life. He produced farm and landscapes scenes but his remembered for his versions of the Peaceable Kingdom.
