Biography: Born in Wales, James Dickson Innes was a British landscape painter who specialized in mountain scenes. He also sometimes painted figures. His initial work was Impressionist in style but he later developed a more Post-Impressionist way of painting. He preferred to paint on a small scale on wood or in watercolor.
