Biography: With the patronage of his hometown of Imola, Innocenzo traveled to Bologna in 1506 and studied under landscape artist, Francesco Francia. He then went to Florence three years later and opened his own successful studio. He received commissions to paint several church frescoes. Innocenzo’s work was influenced by Leonardo and Raphael and also incorporated Roman Classicism. His final project was creating decorative frescoes for the palace of a cardinal and took three years to complete.
