Biography:
Marcellus Laroon was the son of the artist of the same name who came from a French and Dutch background. In addition to painting, he was also a musician and singer, and a soldier. After retiring from military service in 1732, he worked as a portrait painter and also did some conversation pieces and genre scenes.
