Biography:
Son of engraver and writer, Francois-Bernard, Nicolas-Bernard Lepicie followed in his father’s artistic footsteps but instead adopted painting as his medium. He painted portraits, historical subjects, and domestic genre scenes. He is mostly remembered for the latter of these subjects. His style is reminiscent of Chardin and Greuze.
