Biography: Stefano Maderno was a leading sculptor in Rome during the early 17th century. He created multiple statures and reliefs for churches around the city. His most famous work to date is the statue of St. Cecilia in S.Cecilia in Trastevere. He remained the favored sculptor in Rome until Bernini’s entrance.
