Biography:
Francesco Maffei trained in Vicenza with his father and mostly worked out of his native city. He painted political allegories and religious works that were influenced by Mannerist painters such as Paolo Veronese, Alessandro Magnasco, Parmigianino, and Bellange. In 1657, Maffei moved to Padua and died there of the plague.
