Biography:
Very little is known about the life of Mair von Landshut. He painted an altarpiece in Munich around 1490 and a lunette panel for the Freising Cathedral five years later. His printmaking was innovative as he was a master of coloring and inspired later generations of printmakers such as Lucas Cranach the Elder and Albrecht Altdorfer.
