Biography:
Mariotto di Nardo was the son of a sculptor and probably trained with his father. He began painting frescoes, panels, and illuminating manuscripts at an early age. His success made him a popular choice for public and private artists. Mariotto was also the primary artist for the Florence Cathedral. In 1400, he collaborated with sculptor, Lorenzo Ghiberti on a altarpiece in the town of Pesaro.
