Biography:
William Marlow studied under Samuel Scott and quite possibly Richard Wilson. He began creating landscapes that were topographical views that included pictures of country homes. After visiting Europe from 1765 to 1766, he began painting landscapes based on his travels through France and Italy. After 1780, he stopped working as a painter and focused on making scientific instruments.
