Master of James IV of Scotland was one of the best Flemish illuminators of his time. He is named for a portrait of James IV of Scotland in a devotional manuscript. His work was praised for its realistic figures and interiors and its narrative that often incorporated Biblical imagery. The Master of James IV of Scotland could have been artist, Gerard Horenbout based on several large-scale wood panel paintings that have been credited to him.
