The Master of Mary of Burgundy was a Flemish illuminator who was influenced by the painters from Ghent, primarily Hugo van der Goes. He worked for the Burgundy court including the Duke and Duchess of Burgundy, Charles the Bold, and Margaret of York. His name originated from his most successful manuscript, a book of hours created for the duke’s daughter, Mary of Burgundy.
