Biography:
Matteo di Giovanni was born in Borgo San Sepolcro, the same hometown of Piero della Francesca. He painted the wings of Piero’s altarpiece, Baptism of Christ. He spent most of his career in Sienna where he enjoyed much success in the late 15th century.
