Biography: Mino da Fiesole lived and worked in Florence. Although Vasari claims that he was a pupil of Desiderio de Settignano, it is highly unlikely because the two were very similar in age. Mino’s most famous works are his portrait busts, almost all of which are men. He also worked as a tomb sculptor, notably the tomb for Count Hugo of Tuscany.
