Biography:
Giovanni Battista Moroni studied in Brescia under Moretto. He then returned to his birthplace, Albino and worked mostly from there and the nearby town of Bergamo. His style of painting was similar to Moretto’s. His religious paintings were unimpressive, but his portraits were on the same level of quality as his master’s. They are characterized by the psychological depiction, prestige, and unique silvery appearance.
