Biography:
A Dutch artist that first brought Claude Lorrain’s landscape style from Italy trained Frederick Moucheron in Amsterdam. Moucheron never visited Italy but learned this Italianate landscape style from his mentor. He worked in Paris and Lyon in 1656, lived in Antwerp for a period and then returned to Amsterdam. Back in his native city, he was commissioned to paint panels in the homes of upper class citizens.
