Biography:
The Phrynos Painter worked in Athens, painting in the black figure technique. He mostly decorated cups and several small amphorae. He was noted for his movement and detail, using red to emphasize and elaborate his figures. Although his identity is unknown, he is named for the vases he decorated that were created by the potter Phrynos.
