Biography:
Mexican artist, Jose Guadalupe Posada was primarily concerned with political and social messages in his work. He often focused on the plight of the poor. After 1890, his Mexico City studio was converted into a store that sold Posada’s cartoons and illustrations. These were a significant source of information for the illiterate in Mexico. His work also influenced Orozco and Rivera.
