Biography: Riccio, birth name Andrea Briosco, was first trained as a goldsmith by his father, Ambrogio di Cristoforo Briosco. He may have also worked in terracotta. Riccio was strongly influenced by his experience living in Padua, the Italian center of Humanist thought and sculpture during the Renaissance.
