Biography:
David Roberts began his career as an apprentice to a house painter and then working as a scene painter. In 1822, he moved to London and was employed at the Dury Lane Theatre. In 1833, Roberts embarked on an extensive journey throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. While traveling, he achieved financial success by creating topographical views. Roberts was also a published author, illustrating his books in watercolors and oils.
