Biography:
Philipp Otto Runge was a German painter and draughtsman who got a late start in his career. From 1799 to 1801, he studied at the Copenhagen Academy. He then moved to Dresden before settling in Hamburg in 1803. Runge painted mystical paintings and portraits.
