Biography: Kurt Seligmann was born in Switzerland, eventually becoming an American citizen. He lived in Paris form 1929 to 1938 where he became a member of the Surrealist movement. In 1939, he moved to the United States and settled in NewYork City. There, he made sets for ballet and other dance performances. Seligmann also wrote a book about one of his other interests, the occult and titled it The Mirror of Magic.
